Colorado has so much to offer its residents and those visiting including the increasing number of au pairs who continue to choose Colorado as their first-choice state to spend their au pair year and repeat. If you are the type of person who enjoys being outdoors, hiking in the mountains, biking, rafting, and camping during the summer or enjoy the scenic twisty mountain ride to one of the many mountain towns for a concert or festival that take place all summer long, or enjoy the winter season and the sports that come with the snow, like skiing, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, snowmobiling and ice skating, Colorado is a must see! Colorado has four national parks, 42 state parks, 11 national forests, two national grasslands and eight national wildlife refuges. There is so much to do!
The beauty of Colorado, the friendly, hospitable and easy-going people make Colorado home to my family and will be a hard place to leave if we are ever faced with the decision to move. My family and I enjoy the four seasons of the year, the array of activities throughout the year, the unbeatable beauty, the lack of humidity, the culture, sports, and friendly people we meet on the many trails we hike and bike on our own and as a family. During our summer, our favorite family activity has always been evening bike rides. As of last summer, my kids have been able to bike on their own. FINALLY! We’ve gradually moved our way from the trailer, to the tandem bike, to both kids on their own bikes. I recently came across this great list of family bike rides I found in Colorado Parent, Best Family Bike Trails.
